Internal Employee Deviance Predicting Offending Report Giblin Hayes 2015

Executive Summary
Introduction
The Loss Prevention Research Council (LPRC) conducted a series of online survey interviews using Amazon Mechanical Turk in order to develop a pre-employment screening tool that can accurately predict employee deviance ranging from minor offenses such as time theft, to extreme offenses such as sexual harassment and grand theft. This research was conducted with 205 participants. An LPRC Research Scientist collected all of the data in September 2015. This report details the results of these surveys.
Research Goals
1. What tools are currently available that predict employee deviance?
2. Can we use what we’ve learned through hundreds of offender interviews to better predict employee deviance?
3. Do the same predictors of mild deviance such as time theft also predict extreme deviance?
