Hi the paper on "Customer Reactions to Anti-Violence Technology" refers to electrical outlets external to the buildings in the study.  Can you explain what these are used for and what role they play in limiting violence please?

Hi Julian,

Folks tend to loiter around these outlets to charge phones, etc. They can encourage people that don't have access to electricity elsewhere to hang around, and may lead to increased panhandling. This can lead to violent events, even if only a very low percentage of the time.

Thanks for your question!
Mike
