The Loss Prevention Research Council is an active community of researchers, retailers, solution partners, manufacturers, law enforcement professionals, and others who believe research and collaboration will lead to a safer world for shoppers and businesses.

About LPRC

Along with a handful of key international retailers, Dr. Read Hayes founded the LPRC in 2000 to support the evidence-based needs of loss prevention decision-makers in the retail industry. Our founding retailers include some of the best-known companies in the world, including Target, Walmart, OfficeMax, CVS, GAP, The Home Depot, Beall’s, and Barnes & Noble.

Today, we’ve grown to more than 85 major retail chains representing hundreds of thousands of stores around the world. Our team of loss-prevention specialists has conducted hundreds of real-world research projects with our members and partners.
